The Russian Ministry of Defense released a statement on Saturday and said its troops launched an attack on the position of Ukraine in several parts of Ukraine. He also accused the Ukraine forces in Kyiv of shooting near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is now connected to the Ukraine network after engineers repair one of the four main external electricity channels damaged during the ongoing conflict.
The following are the main developments in the story:
1. A week after the Ukraine forces reclaimed the territory previously held by Russian troops in the Northeast Kharkiv region, the Russian Ministry of Defense on Saturday said that his troops launched an attack on the position of Ukraine in several parts of Ukraine.
According to the ministry, Russian troops carried out their strikes in the regions of Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Donetsk.
2. Kyiv Independent reported that Russian troops fired three residential areas. Oblast Governor Sumy Dmytro Zhyvytskyi said Russian troops fired on the Seredyna-Buda, Bilopillia, and Shalyhyne community on Saturday. The attack reportedly ruined the house and car and burned straw. There were no civilian casualties, said Zhyvytskyi.
3. The Russian Ministry of Defense also accused Ukraine forces of shooting near Nuclear Power Plant Zaporizhzhia, the largest in Europe. However, the Ukraine Foreign Ministry denied Russian accusations and said Ukraine forces did not shoot.
